My Regina Coeli Experience

In this post I am going to write about my language learning experience at Regina Coeli. Regina Coeli in Vught, the Netherlands is a language institution known for the nuns who used to run it in the past. There are no nuns nowadays but their method of teaching is still more or less used, I assume with some modifications. The courses in this institution are intensive; they are usually either 5 day or weekend courses. The lessons are individual and tailored to each learner's needs. Every learner has an individual program with two teachers who teach them different skills. The materials also vary according to the individual level and learning goals. I went there for a 5 day intensive Dutch course. I am motivated to learn Dutch for several reasons. I live in the Netherlands and I think learning the language helps me understand Dutch culture better. I work at a faculty where we have monthly meetings in Ducth and I would like to be able to follow the meetings and the emails I occasionall

Oh well... it's been quite a few years since my last post here. Lots of ups and downs, but here I am, planning to start blogging again. I will be writing about blended learning and the use of ICT in classrooms. As an educator, I have always been interested in the use of technology in class to enhance my teaching experience as well as improving my students' learning experience. Here I will be exploring these tools and elaborating on how they can be integrated in a course to help teachers move towards a more efficient and flexible teaching style and make their course materials more inclusive and accessible. I will also be sharing my thought on blended learning and online education.

Sexual Media Effects- Looking at Iran’s context (intro)

Media in the 21st century is undoubtedly one of the influential factors in the sexual and social well-being of young people. Mass media are a significant dimension of young people’s lives especially for sexual risk behavior during adolescence (Chapin, 2000) . Media is a source of learning many aspects of sexuality for adolescents and the effect of sexual content on sexual behavior in different types of media have been highlighted by several studies (e.g., L’Engle, Brown, & Kenneavy, 2006) . Longitudinal research has also found that exposure to sexual television content and sexual explicit media predicts earlier initiation of sexual intercourse (Collins et al., 2004; Brown & L’Engle, 2009 ). Other studies also found links between exposure to sexual media content and earlier involvement in or higher levels of sexual risk behavior ( Ward, 2003 ).
